If you've ever wanted to put out a fire, experience a large earthquake, see a 20 million-year-old tree or find out your weight in space, you've found the right place.

Children have the opportunity to get hands-on at this interactive museum. Cleverly designed interactive programmes and animations cover tricky subjects such as maths and physics in an entertaining way.

Kids (and mums and dads) can take a ride on bouncing electrons, a giant kaleidoscope and experience what it's like to survive a 7.4 magnitude earthquake. The ever-popular space exhibition is full of information about black holes and meteors, and has a planetarium.

There are enough maths puzzles, exhibitions, workshops and educational programmes to keep the whole family occupied for hours. It's a great rainy-day activity or perhaps a break from Istanbul's tourist trail.

The centre is open from 9am to 6pm every day. It's 5 TL for adults and 4 TL for students.
