Yaliciftlik guide for lifestyle, entertainment and attractions
Yaliciftlik is located just outside the Bodrum peninsula, some thirty kilometres from Bodrum Town. Like Tuzla, it's lovely, but remote. Crystal clear seas, small private bays and beautiful pine forests abound here – but very little in the way of facilities or cultural attractions.
If you like to spend your holidays upon the sea, boat tours leave regularly from the area during the summer, using Yaliciftlik as a starting point to explore the Gulf of Gokova.
The village of Ciftlik is a little inland from the seafront, and there Turkish life goes on as it has done for the last century. Yaliciftlik is more modern and caters for tourists and holidaymakers.
On the hilltop above the village you'll find the remains of the ancient city of Syangela. It's a twenty minute uphill walk through olive trees to get there but well worth it for the views on the way.
If you're feeling in need of some culture or need to do some shopping, Yaliciftlik is just forty minutes away from Bodrum Town by dolmus.
