Dalyan Region

Dalyan is located in Turkey's southwest, in the Aegean region. The closest towns are Fethiye, seventy kilometres southeast, Bodrum, 200 kilometres northeast, and Marmaris, ninety kilometres to the west.

Dalyan is twenty two kilometres from Dalaman Airport, which offers plenty of direct flights to and from the UK.

 

Sarigerme Town

Sarigerme is the Dalyan region's most popular town. Although the town is small, during the summer season it becomes quite lively. Although its population has grown, thanks to the facilities developed here over the years, Sarigerme has preserved its natural beauty, with its pine trees and sandy beaches. Sarigerme is actually not the name of the town, but the name of the beach - the town's name is Osmaniye, but the name Sarigerme has stuck.

The town has good facilities including a new golf course. However, Sarigerme will suit those looking for a quiet location.

 

Koycegiz Town

The small Mediterranean town of Koycegiz is a peaceful retreat set on a large, calm lake. The reason it's so quiet may be because it's a short distance from the beach, where most tourists tend to flock. The upside of this is that the town has retained its authentic charm. And it's really very beautiful.

The town has a small population of locals who make their living through agriculture. Koycegiz is becoming more and more popular with tourists, however, and some development is taking place.
