Gokcebel guide for lifestyle, entertainment and attractions
Sunset in Gokcebel
Gokcebel Summary
Gokcebel is a charming village set above Yalikavak. Nature lovers often buy property here thanks to its hillside setting that offers views of both the mountains and the sea. Gokcebel experiences a typical Mediterranean climate with very mild winters.
Around Gokcebel there are flower-filled fields and orchards with fig and mandarin trees. Due to the fact that it is untouched by mass tourism, the area remains peaceful.
The disadvantage to living in Gokcebel is its lack of facilities. If you're after a nice meal, or a spot of shopping, you will need to travel to the nearest town, Yalikavak.
However, as more and more visitors pour into Bodrum this sleepy town may become more popular as tourists head out of the built-up areas in search of somewhere new. Already, there are a few apartment complexes and a small number of English expatriates have made Gokcebel their home.
