Fethiye Summary
Fethiye is located in southwest Turkey and borders the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. Fethiye's closest cities are Antalya, around 200 kilometres to the east; Denizli, around 100 kilometres to the north; and Marmaris, 130 kilometres to the west.

Fethiye does not have its own airport, but Dalaman airport is around fifty kilometres away. Dalaman airport is large and operates all year round, offering plenty of direct flights from the UK, although smaller UK airports may fly you via Istanbul.

Fethiye's landscape is diverse, ranging from the even ground around Fethiye town to mountainous areas like Kemer. Almost 77,000 people live in the Fethiye region. The weather is typical of other Mediterranean areas, with hot summers and cool winters.

The region has a variety of areas to suit all requirements, from the liveliness of Hisaronu to the authenticity of Fethiye Town, to traditional Uzumlu and the sophistication of Gocek. Although Fethiye's weather is hot during the Summer, it is bearable and not humid. The average temperature in the summer is around 35 degrees, although, on very rare occasions, the temperature has been known to creep up to 40 degrees. The winter months in Fethiye are from late October to early April, with temperatures ranging from 8-17 degrees. In early spring and late autumn you can expect a couple of days of light showers.
