New marinas for Turkey are likely to attract more property investors as the country prepares to market itself as a major yachting destination
New marinas for Turkey are likely to attract more property investors as the country prepares to market itself as a major yachting destination, with Cesme Marina the latest project to be announced.
Turkish marinas will likely lure yachties away from other popular Mediterranean spots as boat owners take advantage of Turkey's competitive mooring fees, cheaper cost of living and untouched coastline. Turkish marina property can also be snapped up for a fraction of the price of comparable property in France, Spain and Portugal.
The latest project announced is a 400-birth marina in Cesme. Located in the shadow of an impressive Genoese fort that overlooks the town, the marina will no doubt be in one of the most picturesque spots in Turkey. It is designed by the creators of the internationally renowned Port Grimaud in Tropez, and will feature all the latest marina technology as well as a sophisticated arcade.
The marina will attract more tourists to Cesme, already renowned for its well-to-do tourists, spas and beautiful beaches.
The new marinas are part of a government plan to increase marina capacity along the Aegean and Mediterranean coastline, doubling the berth capacity to 50,000 by 2023.
