Alanya Summary
Alanya is Turkey's liveliest summer holiday destination. With its natural beauty, rich historical charm, modern facilities and adventurous pursuits, you name it - Alanya has it. The town is alive in atmosphere, with happy crowds buzzing around the beaches, streets, shops and hotels.
There are plenty of artifacts around to intrigue history buffs, such as the thirteenth century Seljuk Castle and the red tower (Kizil Kule).
Alanya is a very pretty town. However, the town has become densely developed, with several new developments and high apartment blocks. It is also two hours drive from an airport, although a new airport will open nearby soon.
Those looking for property in Alanya tend to look for holiday homes as opposed to permanent bases, although there are already ten thousand expats living in Alanya.

Alanya is a lively, bustling city with a lot to offer in the way of culture, historical attractions and beaches. A new airport, Gazipasa airport, is due to open nearby for international flights, taking the pain out of travelling for people who would like to buy a holiday home in Alanya.
Alanya is a good place for a permanent home, thanks to its good infrastructure and numerous facilities like private and public hospitals. However, some people feel that this up-and-coming city has been blighted by the number of high-rise buildings. And if you're after peace and quiet, you won't find it here - Alanya is a noisy and crowded centre. There is currently no international school in Alanya, but a number of expats with children have opted for private Turkish schools with good results. As the face of Alanya changes, however, an international school could well be on the cards in the next couple of years.
It is worth considering purchasing an investment property in Alanya, as more and more visitors are set to travel to Alanya via the new airport, and you could well see your capital increase as a result. However, there are currently a number of surplus properties on the market and it may be best to wait and see what happens over the next five years.
