Altinkum is approximately 2 hours from Bodrum (Bodrum Milas International Airport),
1.5 hours from Kusadasi and about 2.5 hours from Izmir (Izmir Adnan Menderes International Airport),
Turkeys third largest city.
There are three larger beaches in the resort, all of which offer all kinds of watersport and activities. Along main beach the promenade slopes around, lined with various bars, shops and restaurants. Dining in Altinkum is varied and of a high standard. Restaurants compete with international menus and traditional Turkish food. Although quite a sleepy resort during the day, Altinkum comes alive at night with its various bars and nightclubs.
The resort has changed dramatically over the past few years. Whilst it still retains its Turkish charm, the resort has expanded and the main road leading you out of the resort will bring you past several large supermarkets, to the town of Didim . On a Saturday you will be mixing with the locals at the market. The market sprawls out and offers a wide variety. Just a few minutes away are the ancient temple of Apollo . Right on your doorstep, there is one of the finest examples of ancient Greek architecture. Spend time during the day wandering around its columns, and dine at night in the traditional restaurants which overlook it.
Local buses run over the resort offering you a very cheap and convenient way to get around.
